Friends and Family Test

Introduction

From 1st December 2014, all GP practices are required to offers patients an opportunity to provide feedback on the service they have received.  This takes the form of the Friends and Family Test – a  simple survey based around one standard question:

  • How likely are you to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?

Patients may choose one of six possible answers from extremely likely to extremely unlikely.

Practices must also offer a follow-up question which allows patients to provide further details about their experience.  Patients should be able to submit their feedback anonymously.

How to submit your feedback

At the Red House Group we are offering patients a number of ways to provide their Friends and Family Test feedback:

  • By completing a Friends and Family Test card when visiting the surgery and posting it in the box in the waiting room;
  • If you are signed up for our text reminder service, by replying to the automated text message you should receive shortly after your appointment;
  • By completing the test online via our website.

Publishing the feedback received

We will publish our latest Friends and Family results on a monthly basis on this website. Click here to view our latest results.

The feedback we receive to the main Friends and Family question is also collected by NHS England on a monthly basis and in due course will be published on the NHS Choices and NHS England websites.

We expect the first sets of data to be published in spring 2015, once three months data has been collected.  We will provide direct links to the pages here once the published data is available to view.
