This year, we will be making significant changes in how The Red House Group runs its flu clinics. We are expecting a huge increase in attendance by patients for their flu jab and clinicians in PPE will need to administer the vaccine whilst maintaining social distancing.
As the risk of Covid transmission is significantly reduced when outside, all clinics will be run in the Red House car park under gazebos. We will have entry and exit lanes, an admin area and 3 clinical areas to administer the vaccine
Every patient will be given a 1 hour slot determined by whether you are in the most vulnerable category or alphabetical by surname. You will be sent your time slot as a text, and it will also be published on this website and on doors at the practice. Given the huge logistical challenge this year, you must attend at your specified time unless there are compelling reasons why you cannot attend at your allotted time. We will be running catch up clinics at a later date.
Please do not attend if you have any symptoms indicating possible Covid infection.
When you attend:
- You must wear a mask
- Please wear a short sleeved top, bear in mind typical British weather, you may need a jacket over the top.
Upon arrival you will be directed to an admin area to log your details on the system. You will then be given a colour coded ticket (one for over 65 years, one for under 65 years which should then be handed this to the clinician administering the vaccine. You will then be given your vaccine and directed to the exit lane.
A huge amount of planning has gone into trying to make this year’s flu clinics as efficient and safe as possible so that we can vaccinate as many of our eligible patients within the shortest possible time in order to protect you from flu infection. We would be most grateful for your support and help in the process.
