An audiologist runs an in-house audiology clinic on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings at The Red House Surgery. These appointments are only available by referral from your GP. Furthermore, patients under 16 cannot be referred to our in-house audiologist and will need to be referred elsewhere.
If you are referred to the audiologist, you will first be offered an appointment with one of our HCAs for an initial assessment and to have your ears syringed. It is important to use ear drops or oil for one week prior to this appointment to soften any wax.
Following your appointment with the audiologist, if you require hearing aids you will be offered a subsequent fitting appointment and a further follow-up appointment two weeks later. Further appointments may be made with our HCAs for assistance with hearing aid cleaning and maintenance. Replacement hearing aid batteries are available from the surgery reception.
